CADMUN is a model United Nations simulation program that takes place in the American School of Durango, once a year. Students from various schools across Mexico participate in our event annually. During the event, students take the role of a UN delegate representing a specific country in order to discuss our world’s current situation. Students act as if they were real members of the UN, and try to reach solutions in a peaceful, creative and collective way. The CADMUN conference is considered to be one of ASD’S most important events. It is planned and executed by ASD students under the direction of their advisers.
CADMUN is an unforgettable experience thanks to the great preparation and hard work that the Secretariat puts into the event every year. The knowledge and preparation that is implemented in the span of CADMUN is immense, as it helps students to improve their public speaking, leadership ability, and understanding of rhetoric.
OUR GOALS AND OBJECTIVES
CADMUN’s vision is directed to the improvement and development of student’s skills such as leadership, speech, debate teamwork & teambuilding. Participating in CADMUN increases students’ knowledge of current worldwide problems, so students' proposing situations for these problems, find ways to engage and get involved, and to work towards establishing agreements intended to improve our world.
The ASD CADMUN team firmly believes the model United Nations is essential to student learning because it makes students aware of the world's pressing issues, and the consequences of neglecting these issues.
